Rings, shields and collisions

You start each attempt with three shields. An ordinary obstacle hit removes one shield and up to ten collected rings, followed by a short protection period that prevents an immediate chain of hits.

Rings need a close pass — running in a neighbouring lane doesn’t normally collect them. Ring Magnet temporarily widens your collection reach.

Bridge gaps follow a different rule: falling into one ends the run immediately, even with shields left. Dash doesn’t protect you from a missing section of bridge.

How Dash works

Each collected ring adds four points to the Dash meter, so a full meter takes 25 ring pickups from empty. Dash lasts 3.5 seconds and increases your speed.

Dash carries you through ordinary obstacles, but the extra speed leaves less time to react to bridge gaps. Use it when you can see the route ahead.

Ring Magnet

Finish Sky Bridges (stage 2) to unlock Ring Magnet. It attracts nearby rings for eight seconds and can be used once per run in eligible running stages from stage 3 onward.

Magnet collects rings; it doesn’t remove hazards or protect you from collisions.

Stars and progress

Running stages award stars for reaching the finish, finishing with at least the ring target, and finishing with all three shields. The ring target is checked against the rings you still hold at the finish.

Boss stages award stars for defeating Eggman, not missing an attack opportunity, and keeping all three shields. You don’t need three stars to unlock the next stage — completing it is enough.

Progress is stored locally in your browser. It doesn’t sync to another device or browser, and clearing the site’s stored data can remove your records.

Practice mode

Practice selected campaign stages: Sky Bridges (stage 2), Magnet Meadows with a temporary Ring Magnet charge (stage 3), Coastal Arrival (stage 5) and Eggman Encounter (stage 8).

Practice doesn’t save campaign stars, unlock stages or permanently unlock Ring Magnet.

Music and sound

Regular stages play the running track; Eggman encounters use separate boss music, which starts when the run begins.

The music-note button or M key controls both music and sound effects. Pausing stops the music and resuming continues from the same position.
